TALKING MOVIES is a series for people who love
movies! If you only like them, are only interested in stars or can't
bear reading sub-titles move on!
You have to love movies! You have to be excited when you walk
into a theater, find your seat, hunker down and know when the
lights go down and the curtain goes up (o.k. so pretend there's
a curtain!), you're going to spend the next two hours (o.k. sorry,
sometimes it's three and you're right, in most cases that's too
long) on a magical trip. Some laughs, some sturm and drang, oh
yes mystery and maybe even an action film or a thriller...en Francais,
in Italian and possibly even Farci but mostly in English. We generally
show one or two foreign films per session. BUT if they're great,
we'll show more!
There's lot of logisitics involved so
sometimes we know two weeks in advance and sometimes two months
who's in town on a Thursday night.
The films we
present will be the best films and filmmaker guests available.
The program will be a mix of Hollywood, Independent and Foreign
films. Some will provoke, others amuse but all will be entertaining.
We had a great spring with some excellent films and fascinating guests. We particularly
loved THE HOAX, THE LIVES OF OTHERS, LA VIE EN ROSE, BLACK BOOK , MY BEST FRIEND,
DIGGERS, MOLIERE, I'LL NEVER FORGET YOU: THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF SIMON WEISENTHAL.
Get to a theater or rent them if they are no longer in a theater!
